It is not very strange that Mr Kalbe Jawwad has aired such reactionary, illogical, unislamic and highly objectionable statement regarding (Muslim) women. All those who are fammilliar with Mr Jawwad's intellect level, background and the company that he possesses are not surprised on this matter. His credibilty and sincerety has never been undoubtful. The instances when he levelled false allegations against Ali Congress, a Lucknow based social organisation have proved him unjust and untrue at all levels. His sermon can be viewed on YouTube.
His latest statement is an attempt to distort the image of (Shia) Islam. He has proved himself unfit and inept to lead Friday prayers as he has violated the conditions required for this task.
A large section of community has been feeling for a long time that Mr Jawwad should immediately be deprived of this pious duty as he has damaged the importance of Imame Jumah.
His addresses during Muharram show how underqualified is he to address such gathering.
If Mr Jawwad has some reservations for women regarding their ability to participate in politics, he should have reflected and transpired to the lady chief minister during his meeting with her. He should have sermoned to women candidate for MP seat from Lucknow during his meeting with her. The meeting photograph has been pulished in papers.
Mr Jawwad should study the contributions of women rulers like Razia Sultana, staunch fighters like Chand Bibi, icon of first freedom fight like Begum Hazrat Mahal, National leader Aruns Asif Ali, writers like Kamla Das and many more to name.
Is it not an example of double standard that at one place Mr Jawwad airs such derogatory remarks and on the other hand he tries to trade using the name of Justice Karamat Husain?
It is now urgently needed to remove him from the post of Immame Juma or another Prayer should immediately be started at other suitable place.
